Group therapy

Anxie-TEA is a six-week in person group run by Jaime Nichols, LCSW, focused on helping people explore their relationship with anxiety, with the aim of practicing and utilizing an assortment of tools, experiences, and attitudes to develop more choice and perspectives in situations where anxiety arises. Anxie-TEA combines this educational element with the conversational and insight aspects of a process group, all while enjoying and utilizing the experience of drinking tea together.

The next Anxie-TEA groups will start January 6th 2025 with weekly meetings currently planned on Mondays from noon to 1:30 pm (Scheduled to start 1/6/25)  and Fridays (Scheduled to start 1/10/25) from 3 to 4:30 pm. Groups are limited to eight participants per session, with weekly group participant fees of $45 per session.

Finding options that work well for those interested in group therapy is important to me, so if these times don’t fit well with your schedule, please reach out and let me know so that different times might be considered for future group options.

Some Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of tea will you be serving?
We will be enjoying different Chinese teas every week, experiencing the practice of mindful tea drinking (gong fu cha) as part of each session.

I don’t drink caffeinated beverages. Can I still participate?
Yes. We can provide a caffeine-free alternative.

Can I use my insurance to pay for this?
Due to the time duration of this group, only out-of-pocket payments will be accepted. Insurance superbills can be provided on request.

What if I’m unsure if this group is for me?
Feel free to contact Jaime to discuss things further.

What happens if I miss a session?
Each session contains its own experience and information that builds on the previous session, so attending all six sessions is recommended. Missed sessions can be “made up” by attending the parallel session from the other weekly group meeting or by attending any missed sessions in the next six-week series.
